Days 1 and 2 of my SUMMER NorCal trip!!! OMG SO MUCH FUN!!! Day 1: I got in super late from my flight since it was delayed 4 hours (Allegiant, you know) so I got in at 2am and slept for a few hours. I had a hair appointment the next morning early (thank you to the best hair stylist Christina!!!) so that I wouldn’t miss Anne’s bachelorette party and an early morning it was!! I jetted down to downtown Sacramento (from Roseville) and she started doing my hair at 7:30-I’m telling you this girl was a saint for me!! She finished right at 10:30 and I rushed over for the bachelorette party! Oh I was so excited we got done that quick since the party started at 10:30! We all got pedicures and had lunch at La Bou-if you haven’t tried it, see if there’s one in your area! It’s so so good! The baguette and dill sauce is my fave! It was so much fun to catch up with all my best childhood girlfriends! It’s so rare to see people stay friends for that long anymore. They were all my bridesmaid’s too so it was that much more special! Then 3 of us went to the mall to get some last minute tips on makeup for our friend’s big day! HAHA. This was so fun-we felt like we were all in high school again! We all bought way more than we needed. Then Abby and I continued to shop, met my Mom for sushi (Abby’s first time-WHAT. This turned out to be absolutely hilarious. Chopstick mayhem is all I have to say!), then went to Abby’s Grandma’s house and hung with her Mom. So good-all of their Mom's are like extensions of my Mom. Love love them all. Abby ran to the store to get distilled water for debloating hehe and grabbed lashes for me! I fell asleep and little did I know when she came back, her and my Mom ironed my dress together for forever until it was perfect. I have THE sweetest friends!! Aren't they absolutely GORGEOUS!? And deliciously single if you want some digits... just sayin! :) Day 2: One of my very best friends got married!!! Oh my goooooodness we were so excited!! We woke up at 6:15 so we could have plenty of time and of course it still wasn’t enough! Her wedding was at 10, we had to be there at 9:30, had 2 people to pick up on the way, and it’s 20 min away. So yeah, should’ve woken up earlier. Regardless, we got ready and I ended up doing a couple bridesmaids’ hair in the bathroom before the wedding. Our friend, Andrea (I call her Anne) and her fiancé chose to get married in the Sacramento LDS temple and I have to say this is the best decision EVER of how to start a marriage. We are all LDS (commonly known as Mormon) and the temple is a place where you not only get married, but it’s a place that makes your marriage last forever-we call it a sealing. You know the part in weddings where they say “til death do you part?” We don’t believe this has to be the case. In temples you are able to be sealed for eternity. It’s the most precious, beautiful thing. I’m SO glad Ian and I can be together forever. And if you were married civilly, you can still be sealed in the temple. Contact me:) Primed and ready:) Waiting and waiting... These girls are everything to me <3 Anyway, their sealing was absolutely beautiful as you could see how much love they shared for each other. After, we took pictures and pictures and then had a nice luncheon with all their family and the wedding party. Then, the 3 of us went off again and got stuff to decorate their car that night! This was so fun. We went to the Dollar Tree and Walmart and got anything and everything you can think of. We went way overboard and I wish we had pictures but it’s probably best that we don’t J Then we changed and helped finish with setup for their reception. The reception was so pretty and such Andrea’s style so it was perfect for them!! We danced, ate, you know the typical wedding stuff. Abby and I helped clean up the reception which was nice so we could talk to Sister Barrett. We then went to Lynsie’s house and had typical girl talk. I THINK something was funny:)

The #1 question I ALWAYS get when out and about or from friends, is OMG I love your ring!!! What is it!? So I thought I'd answer in detail here:)
What is it? The center stone on my ring is called Morganite, it's a precious gemstone. A lot of people think it's a pink diamond-that works too ha! The band is rose gold with 87 surrounding diamonds. The best part about the 87 diamonds is that this is exactly how many days Ian and I had been dating before he proposed! So I love that:) And I know I know that's FAST! And IT IS! But we just knew pretty quickly and things worked fast from there! We didn't even plan the 87 diamonds or realize that until way later! Why Morganite? I have had my eye on Morganite for as long as I can remember (way before I even met Ian) and I never wanted a diamond as my wedding ring. I just love Morganite a lot more! I used to sell fine jewelry in high school and during beauty school so I got a good feel for what I liked. How did you find that? We had to search HARD! Although it's made it's way as a popular pin on Pinterest, Morganite is extremely hard to find. Jewelry stores rarely carry it so we had to move the search to online! I knew I wanted it with rose gold so that narrowed the search down to limited rings even online. We eventually found this ring on ETSY (believe it or not!) as well as a couple others I liked and Ian knew I wanted one of the three. I say he picked the right one:) We haven't had any issues with diamonds falling out or anything as I've heard many have with an online store. We checked the seller's reviews and made sure he checked out okay. It was actually from a jewelry store in Jersey. Although they didn't offer a warranty, we got an amazing deal so we weren't too worried if we had to replace a stone ourselves. What to know about Morganite? Morganite is an extremely sensitive gemstone. Many other jewelers tried to steer Ian away from getting me one in fact! It is from the same material as a sapphire or emerald, but in pink! It is most sensitive to heat, as heat can cause cloudiness. I have to say this is absolutely true, and working as a hair stylist has made my ring pretty cloudy from having the heat of a blow dryer always next to it. The nice thing is though, the cloudiness goes away with a simple cleaning/soak. You do have to be careful though when you take it to a jeweler to get cleaned (they should know this, but don't as Morganite isn't common) that it cannot be steamed (because of the heat) and it can not be put in their generic cleaner that vibrates the ring (also causes cloudiness). Because of this, we bought a cleaning solution ourselves and clean it at home. We did take it in once to get it professionally cleaned and they did a great job (but did have to use steam-I had paint all over it! Whoops). You should also know Morganite is way cheaper than a diamond and makes for a very affordable option for a ring! If you want a huge stone, it's not that much more either! SO that's that! I'm absolutely obsessed with my ring and not a day goes by that someone else obsesses over it with me! If you aren't married/engaged yet and you like the look of this ring, I say go for it! I absolutely love mine:) Boyfriend jeans!! Ohhhh how these jeans are so kind to women :) They're baggy enough to feel like sweats, but tight enough to still have a fashion sense on the outside, and by this I mean still look put together! I do have to say I feel like I always have to wear a more fitted shirt with them otherwise I look frumpy with no shape, but hey-I'll take that any day if I can wear "sweats" :) I could live in these (and do!) and found them at Nordstrom Rack for $12! They're Paige Jeans too so I was so excited! I wish I could have snatched them all for all my blog readers! I did, however link up all my favorite boyfriend jeans below! Check it out! |
