FOOD: *Page’s okra grill (MUST!! Besssst southern food, go early or book on open table prior. There’s ALWAYS a wait!) Their Chicken and Waffles, Pimento Cheese Burger, fried green tomatoes, Shrimp and Grits, and Banana Pudding are all divine but if there's one thing you have to order, its their shrimp and grits! *Vicious Biscuit (another must!! Evvvverything is SO good. Best biscuits in town but usually a wait) Their Vicious Biscuit, plain biscuit with their jam/jelly bar, and their Thai style biscuit are our favorites! Saltwater cowboy (seafood and bbq overlooking the water at Shem creek), their trash can nachos are delish! *Poogan’s smokehouse (BBQ!! If you’re going with 4-6 people, all share the meat sweats with Skillet Mac and cheese as one of the sides. You get to try a little of everything and it’s divine!) Cuban gypsy pantry (out of this world Carribean food, total hole in the wall though. Get it to go and eat it at the park across the street!) The veggie platter, beef empanada, and fresh fruit juice are our favorites! Poogan’s porch (southern food on a porch downtown, pretty famous but not cheap!) Beech (açaí and poke bowls, on Daniel Island AND Downtown Carmella’s (dessert diner downtown, carrot cake is to die for!) Jeni’s ice cream (homemade absolutely divine ice cream downtown!) Duck donuts (made to order donuts! So good) Cook Out (fast food but good haha): HAVE to get one of their shakes! They have 100+ flavors because you can mix as many toppings in as you want for the same price, our favorites are blueberry cheesecake shake, double chocolate malt shake with extra Reese's Cup and Snickers, Burgers, Hush Puppies, Onion Rings, and *Cheerwine Floats (These floats are a must try- Cheerwine is locally made in the South, its like a yummier Cherry Soda) Bertha's Kitchen- If you want very real Southern Soul food, served Cafeteria style Nirlep Indian- VERY good lunch buffet and very authentic Indian, your hair will smell like it until you wash it haha BEACHES: Isle of palms (fancier beach) Sullivan’s island (more serene, right next to isle of palms), very relaxing to go in the mornings and you will more than likely see dolphins in the mornings Kiawah Island (hour away secluded island, it’s exclusive so you have to tell them you’re staying at one of the hotels to even be let in there) *Folly beach (younger crowd and ultimate beach town, go to berts market and try local ice cream too for $4 for a big portion) THINGS TO DO: Magnolia plantation (most popular)- lots to do: petting zoo, rice plantation boat tour, swamp tour on a bus to see alligators, walk the gardens, tour the plantation home, visit the gift shop, watch their history movie in a mini theater Historical boat tour around the harbor from patriots point museum (Mount Pleasant) Daniel island walking paths and views (most expensive place to live too so beautiful homes to see) Pineapple Fountain- Pineapples were put up on fireplace mantles as a sign of hospitality when guests would come to visit; when the pineapple is removed, its a nice way of saying they over-welcomed their stay :), beautiful swinging benches and pier to walk out onto here King street (classic Charleston shopping): The Savannah Bee Company, Olive Oil tasting room, and Art Galleries (Charleston Photography/art) are fun to see! Friday night market on market street (and views of downtown overlooking water, you have to walk to the pineapple fountain too! And sample all the praline samples along market street) Rainbow row (row of colorful homes with historical significance- read the signs for history) The battery (old civil war spot with fancyyy homes, most still have the small house outback where their slaves would live) Charleston tea plantation (sip tea and do a factory tour to see how tea is made) Carriage Tour Downtown- if you want a very thorough history lesson and romantic night Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon- Worth the tour to see where they would keep prisoners during the civil war, lots of history here Boone Hall Plantation- Honestly never been but hear its fun! Rent Paddle boards at Shem Creek and Paddle Board the River! Rent Kayaks at Charleston Outdoor Adventure near Folly Beach- many times you will see dolphins here
