MAMA: Oh my sweet baby boy; today you are 6 months. You are a true light, a beacon of hope while the world is amidst so much chaos. You are the smiliest happiest boy and absolutely have lit up our lives. You will smile at us without us looking at you and then we look at you and you become all shy and bashful and turn inwardly or away. You especially smile the most at your sister and just watch her all day smiling. It is the sweetest thing. She started really coming around to you so it is heart warming to watch you both play together and enjoy each other, especially kicking/splashing water together in the bath. I remind Ro that you will be her best friend forever so I think it's starting to click;) Your first tooth came through a couple weeks ago and your second bottom one is trying to break through your gums. Teething is absolutely horrendous for you but even when you are pain you are smiling, just maybe not as often. You are a schedule boy through and through and if we miss one feeding or have your nap times off, you are a lot more fussy and wake up in the middle of the night too. You are a very light sleeper and wake very easily. When we come to get you from bed or naps you are the HAPPIEST!!! Oh you are such a fun baby!!! You love to be outside, out doing things and sqeal when we take you outside and such. You have started to get used to your carseat, love going on stroller walks, and love playing with something in your hands at all times so you can stick it in your mouth. You are still in your bassinet in our room because you are waking up a lot lately through the night from teething but normally you sleep from 9-6am wake for a feeding and then sleep until about 8. Naps are 10, 2, and 6pm [10am is 1-2 hours, 2pm is always 2 hours and have to wake you, and 6 is always just 1 hour and you wake on your own]. I still have to be very careful with how much dairy I consume as it still affects you a lot. You sleep on our bed for naps. You started to kind of prefer to fall asleep on your own sometimes and will stop nursing so you can fall asleep, just sometimes though. You bite a loooooooooot and it really hurts. You just smile after you little stink! If you are ever very fussy, a bath is always the answer. You went on your first swing this week and loved it!! You are very noisy and love babbing a lot. You still fall asleep in the carrier if we are on the go for naps and it is my favorite thing! You roll your ankles all day long and we just think its the cutest thing in the whole wide world!! Last time I weighed you you were 23 lbs! You are so cuddly too and started resting your head on us this month; to say we are obsessed is an understatement! You truly are so happy, flirtatious and fun!! Now stop getting older! Happy half birthday sweet boy!
Oh man I feel like each passing day before delivery makes me more and more anxious. I get so scared about taking care of another but also so much excitement to see Ro with her baby brother too. It's all so overwhelming and I am so done being pregnant but also so terrified to have two so I can hold out longer as well. It is just all so bittersweet and I feel so dramatic about it (probably because of pregnancy/hormones) but the things that help me the most is thinking of how close I have of a relationship with my older brother Jordan and how I loved growing up close in age to my brothers. Three of us were even all in high school together.
Well my fingers, feet and face are all beginning to swell, it is so hard to sleep at night and so I am extra tired, and I have been feeling extra pressure, cramping, and lightening for the past four days. It was strongest on February 1st through the 2nd but then went away. I think this is due to the foot massage I received that day so I am tempted to go again today but also so terrified that I don't know if I am ready to fully induce labor either. It's all just so surreal and I am soaking up every moment with Ro and trying to give her lots of attention so she feels loved. I feel like for the most part I am so excited for all the changes and to dream of cuddling a newborn again but then sometimes I get sad thinking it won't just be Ro and I anymore. And let me tell you, she is quite the ultimate cuddler so I feel like I haven't missed the newborn stage or anything with her. We have taken each day as they come and she is just too fun right now. Of course every stage has its positives and negatives, but I have truly enjoyed each and every single one with her and can only pray I feel the same way when her brother comes. She is just the epitome of a perfect child and sure she can throw tantrums and gets upset, but she is so sweet, doesn't fight with others, so good at sharing, loves to cuddle, doesn't fight naps or bedtime, sleeps so well, plays independently after receiving a proper amount of attention, and I looooooove how much of a Mama's girl she is. I am excited/nervous for all the changes but I will say I get an overwhelming feeling that it will be okay and this baby was given to us from God. I know we are having a boy for a reason we don't know yet and that we got pregnant when we did. I need to trust the Lord more and rely more on Thee during this very transitional time. Here's to hoping and praying for a sweet, healthy boy and an uneventful delivery! |
